Doha is the capital of Qatar and its cultural and commercial heart. With a population of 400,000. Doha is an mixture of old and new, modern architecture next to traditional Arabic Soukhs (bazaars). Most luxury shops are indoors in one of the many mallls or shopping streets and areas linke the Pearl Qatar and most of the little village shops that sell everything from batteries, tools, postcards, lamps, arspirine, etcetera, are located in the traditional part of Doha. This site is more about the luxury shops and malls. Doha is one of the best shopping places in the world. Forbes Magazine called the Villaggio one of the best shopping malls in the world. The malls are air-conditioned and look like parks with plants and flowers and cool places to walk around and shop till you drop. Every mall has a playground and care for children. Most of the shopping malls are found in Doha the capital of Qatar.

All the major brands have their own shop. To name a few: Armani, Valentino, Ralph Lauren (clothing), Breitling, Rolex, Patek Philippe (watches and jewellery), Ferrari, Aston Martin, Range Rover (cars) and many, many more.

Most malls in Qatar are open from 10.00h to 22.00h, Saturday till Thursday. Most will be closed on Friday mornings but will open up during the evening. Also, some malls have special "Family Days", where single men will be turned away at the door.

The Doha souqs (souks) or markets (flea markets, street markets) are traditional, outdoor souqs or airconditioned and indoors. Each having their own speciality for example the gold souq or the wholesale souq, others sell everything you can think of. The Souq Waqif (Old Souq) fills up a big area of Doha.
